One that does not contain any corn or wheat products at all. Very limited plant material, cats don't need any despite what cat food manufacturers want you to believe.

I've researched this in depth and talked to my Vet since adopting my first kitten many years ago. The consensus has always been the same. As long as your cat is healthy and does not need to be on a special diet, any name brand cat/kitten food has all the required nutrients. Unless you have a lot of money to spend unnecessarily, the so-called premium foods are just more expensive. I hope this helps. All of my kittens lived healthy lives into old age.......the new one I have now, will probably outlive me!...........LOL

Iams is not premium. It used to be, but years ago the formula changed.

Try Science Diet, Nature's Choice or Nutro. Go to a pet store and talk to them.

I consider Kirkland's Super Premium cat food to be super premium. Its way better for your cat and its very healthy for them. My cat had a dull coat when we would feed him meow mix and other brands but binx now has a very shiny coat and the vet said that it is better for binx because binx would be sick all the time with other cat foods but Science Diet. Science Diet is expensive though so thats why we buy Kirkland's from Costco.

I use Iams indoor cat formula. It's definitely the best food that you can buy at regular (not vet) stores, including Walmart. Science diet might be better, but it is more expensive and harder to find.

Ask the vet. Usually, they are expensive specialty cat foods like Iams or brands you can only get from the vet.

i dont know man. my girlfriend has 2 cats, and one of them will eat just about anything. i've seen her eat bugs, chew on a plastic bag, try to bite a ball of tin foil. she's eaten a chunk of potato before, and took a bite out of the top of a pepper. i dont think she cares what she's eating, so the idea of premium food doesnt seem to make sense to me. and the other cat has diabetes and we need to feed it some kinda special diabetic diet food. but ever since we've been feeding her that, she's been way happier. she plays all day, as opposed to lying on the couch all day like before.

Royal Canin and Blue Spa Select are the top choices that I've heard of.
