It stands to reason that we are still the most powerful country in the world that would be, the United States.

United States
No doubt about it. We have the greatest power projection of any Singular nation- we have largest fleet, greatest influence in NATO and the U.N. (as a matter of fact, NATO supreme commanders MUST be from the United states) Our power comes not from our military (the SOviet Union has as many or more nukes than us) but rather, our political, economic, and cultural influence, though in recent times it has dwindled a little.
The definition of superpower isn't just who has the most nukes or the largest standing army, but rather the internation projection of influence that a country exerts. Why need armies when your words can sway billions? The pen is mightier than the sword, they say.
China is arguably a possible candidate for a superppower, but given their credibility, agendas, morals, and economic and po9litical influences (along wth their own problems at home) it does not appear that they will be superpower class anytime soon.

Great Britain
The Word GREAT says it all and we also have the best special forces in the world the
22nd-reg SAS (Special Air Service)
"Who Dares Wins"
I don't know why people keep saying china they might have the biggest army in the world This is because they breed like rabbits and if you were to shoot 1000 of them there would be another 1000 behind them
But if Great Britain and the USA get together we are unstoppable

China... they have the largest standing army in the world and are a nuclear power. They have the world's largest population and will pass the U.S. as the dominent economy and world power by 2012... which will be very hard for Americans to swallow.

Well I considering from a military tactician's point of view (my son in law) I would have to say that you couldn't really define a single nation as I ran a simulation of what might happen. Let's say the Chinese were planning war on the US their first action would be to re-arm and make use of the middle-eastern terrorist to temporarily distract the US forces their next step would be to either peacefully or in military force to take over in the following order: Korea, Japan (Note: Japan would be sacked! as retaliation to the massacre of China in WWII),Russia, Vietnam Hawaii. Their next step would be to utilize the Russian might(or what's left of it) to destroy major countries in Europe aka Germany,Britain, France, Italy,Spain, etc. from t his they would then attack the US starting with Nuking the Capital and other major cities LA, NYC, etc. next would be to put the Panama Canal out of operation and Hawaii from there it would be a land invasion it would be Pearl harbor but actually working. Canada would be easily crushed and therefore the America's would be easily taken!

Well. I'd like to ask in what context.? Military, education, art, ... It all depends. But, USA is power full in military. I just hope that education, specially in high school, could become a strong point for USA.
