They purportedly have missiles with the proper range to hit targets on the west coast. Alaska, BTW, is well within range.

No. North Korea only announced that they have successfuly test detonated a small warhead quite recently. Given their limited projection and technology, their ability to project a nuclear warhead 3000+ miles is very improbable. Their level of nuclear technology may only be comparable to the SOviet Union's in the early 1950s. They are still only at the beginning down the road of nuclear development.
THe point is, even if North Korea DID have a long range ICBM, they would never think of targeting the U.S. Kim JUng IL isn't that crazy. North Korea's possession of an A-bomb (or H-bomb) would be much more threatening for the reason that they MAY get into the hands of fundementalists. In which case North Korea would not need nuclear projection, since an overt attack would doom their nation from a 50 nation coalition that would wreck North Korea within a day.
North Korea would pose much more of a threat to say, South Korea or Japan. But the nuke would only serve the purpose of a bargaining tool, and no more than that.

The TD-2 could reach major cities and military bases in Alaska and the smaller, westernmost islands in the Hawaiian chain. Light-weight variations of the TD-2 could fly as far as 10,000 km, placing at risk western U.S. territory in an arc extending northwest from Phoenix, Arizona, to Madison, Wisconsin. This is the missile being tested today (Jun 18th).

Yes they at least have a 'Dirty' bomb. As for shooting it to America... ask again in about a week or two after their ICBM test is over as they haven't fired that missle yet.

They are called missles and they threaten but hitting "America" and actually hitting the mainland are 2 different things. Alaska, Hawaii maybe California that would be about it.

It seems that we'll simply wait and see if it hits to find out for sure. At that point, we'll likely give them more money & food to keep them from hitting the midwest, instead of just California. Iran is learning well.

No sense of living in fear. N.Korea isn't a radical faction like Iran and the like. They will not risk full scale inalation to test the therory. The Koreans somewhat like Iran act out about their "NUKE" potential to get aid and the like. Countries like N. Koea chose stay in isolated when in fact in this day of age they only hurt themselves.

As of now we are not really sure...actually no one is for sure except the north koreans that produce it...But is it possible yes...but most likely they do not have such missiles that are able to do that.
