Is it true that Bush's campaign was part funded by the church?

Saw a news report where a group of parents took schools to court because they changed the curriculum to no longer include teaching of evolution.

While he has not gone to the extreme of removing Darwin from the curriculum, according to the New York Times (October 29, 2000), he has stated that "the jury is still out" on evolution, and what's more, he "doesn't really care about that kind of thing."

His public statements on that oxymoron "Intelligent Design" are symptoms of his larger war against scientific knowledge and progress.

Bush's campaigns have been heavily financed by Theocons (religious right extremists), and they have taken a hand in forming policy decisions on many levels.

If Bush did support such a campaign, he's even crazier than I thought. The fact is, there would be no faith in the public schools left if this was implemented, and the parents would be right to sue them for taking their money and their children and calling that education.

Look, it is not simply a matter of opinion. The "theory" of evolution is like the "theory" of relativity: only called theory and not plain fact because scientists are over-cautious. Or perhaps more honestly, because they are being kind to the fundamentalists. No one has produced a shred of evidence to discredit the "theory" of evolution in any scholarly journal or research project yet, and they will not, because it is an OBSERVABLE fact: just ask any livestock breeder! Animals change over time. Over long periods of time and sometimes over short periods. Most domesticated animals have changed due to the intervention of human choices, but nonetheless they prove the mechanism, partly by speeding up the process.

To kowtow to fundamentalist religious groups is no kindness to them. Sooner or later they must acknowledge that what they are protecting is just an interpretation of a translation of an interpretation of a translation, and not the unalloyed Word of God. They may respect the Bible for its value to them without insisting that it has any scientific reality at all.

I don't know about eradicating Darwin's teaching or the church funding Bush's campaign, but we certainly need to have open debate in schools about recent discoveries and why scientists are leaning more to intelligent design.

Bush does not live in a spiritual way. His decisions come from an intent to 'control', to 'have power over' and ultimately place people in 'fear' like most governments and authorities.
Whatever intent is behind his decision making or those that fund it, all form part of a silent worldwide organisation, that is not operating for the greater good of the whole.

Is that true? If so, it is terrible. Evolution is the most comprehensive and sensible theory for how the world came to be the way it is. Creationism is a cult and my friend is a fanatic. It is a ridiculous theory and you would have to be very gullible to believe it! I mean, people domesticatig dinosaurs? It's not the Flintstones! And the thing about the world only being 6000 years old or whatever.... carbon dating? fossils? A goverment conspiracy, my friend called it. So they just made it all up then?

It makes me so angry. Sorry.

Well I think evolution is a load of rubbish but I suppose kids need to know what is out there.

Not to mention the fact that it has actually been said that it is a load of rubbish that we could become what we are from one little cell. Unless we had some sort of help, and yet people still believe in it because they can't stand the thought of a greater being (God)

George did not speak of eradicating the teachings of Darwin but to be taught along side intelligent design ( ironic coming from a man who has made so many idiotic comments).

"It is preposterous order to teach first and learn after": Quote from Bible Translators. As for Darwin's "theory" of evolution it's only a theory, much like rapture is a theory of carnal christians who haven't yet learned what meaneth "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice", nor learned "there is no respect of persons with God", nor learned "a little leaven(law) leaveneth(sin & death stings) the whole lump".

Knowing the truth is what makes you free of belieiving theories, of false Christs, false apostles, false prophets, false teachers and preachers(ministers: religious & political) among you.

What should be eradicated from all schools of thought, including sunday schools, is the whole concept of "sacrifice"(slaughter, bloodshed) for sin, which is "by the law" and "of the law"; Which is what God(the God of all grace) will "not" have, and the "not" part is not then, not now, not ever: Ps 40:6; Ps 51:16; Hos 6:6; Mt 9:13; Mt 12:7; Heb 10: all. For receiving the promise (eternal life) notably comes "after" doing the will of God: "I will have mercy(grace), and not sacrifice(law)". So these listed in Heb 11 notably "all died" and "received not the promise", which makes it a hall of shame rather than a hall of fame.

For it's the "evidence" that makes something "evident", and what's "evident" from all the biblical and historical evidence is that "no man is justified by the law in the sight of God".

As for GWB, let's compare GWB and the Bible:

GWB: "there will be sacrifice" (at 9/11)
Bible: "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice"

GWB: "America is a nation under law"
Bible: "ye are not under the law, but under grace"

GWB: "I'll take my rule of law global in the next 4 yrs"
Bible: "whether prophecies, they shall fail": 1Cor 13

The God of "all grace" make you "perfect"(also merciful),
after ye(do err) suffer awhile: 1Pet 5:10 in yer law law

Selah Americah

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I don't know if that is true. I doubt it. But the whole concept is funny because Bush looks exactly like a chimp. Just look at him for an example of evolution -- not that he has evolved that much.
