it seems like one has to have connections, lie, cheat, care less about the others to get ahead!, there's no access to get a good paying position for ones that are decent trustworthy, hardworking, sencere, godly man and woman. This life is so unfair everything that's wrong is praised, 'bad means good/good means bad'.That's okay though cause I have reassurance in the Word that " ...the first will be last, and the last will be first" :)

First of all, if you are in the US, a decent Godly man/woman, can make it just fine through hard work and making the necessary changes in ones life to succeed.

Secondly, a decent Godly man/woman should not be coveting the lifestyle of the liars, cheaters and the selfish. A Godly man/woman needs to learn how to be content in things that aren't always material. A Godly man/woman should know how to make it without being crooked.

Third, life is unfair; get over it. Everyone has trouble and problems. Dwelling on the trouble you have or the things you want but don't have, won't change anything. There are plenty of decent people out here who through honesty and hard work, are able to live very fulfilling lives and also are able to deal with trouble and hard times when they come.

Whining will only keep you down. Look toward the positive and you will get there.

You summed up my life! People wonder why I don't try harder. How many times does a person have to get hit over the head before he knows he's going to get hit. What you described is exactly how I got to where I am today - nowhere! I, like you, keep Bible passages in mind - they are my only comfort. I am tempted to rattle on about my life, but it may bored you -- it sounds a lot like yours. I've never been one to "play the game" -- I thought it more "godly" not to -- but look where it's gotten me (again, "nowhere"). It has helped me to understand why Jesus Christ was so poor. Where was there room in the world for someone like that (about as godly, trustworthy, hard working, etc., as a human can get)?

I have been slammed and beaten 'til I couldn't stand up or talk, and looked around me at the people who got ahead (to where I should have been) -- the liars, cheaters, game-players, criminals.... I can't think of times when I "played the game" for that end -- I just couldn't bring myself to do it. What would that say about me as a person?

I believe there will be a time when things are set right. People, like yourself, will be on Easy Street and the ones who have lied, cheated, not cared about others, and made all those seemingly fruitful connections, will be sweating out some tough times to make up for what they were and did.

What can I say? I have no answers right now to offer. But, I do have faith. (Keep yours!)

Peace and love.

[EDIT] Please forgive me, but I have to laugh at some of the advice above!!! (ROFL!) They have not been in our shoes!!! :D

If you have a good life and a good heart and a peaceful soul.......what else do you NEED?

OHHHHHH, you need money??

Get a better education at the government's expense, get an attitude adjustment about the "world" being so unfair.........go compete for a good position.....and share your wealth with others once you get settled.

Oh, by the way.......stop wasting money that you DO have and get/stay out of debt.

You CAN be God-ly AND wealthy. Here's how. Start off at about one hour a day.... I listen to his radio show for about 15 minutes per week, now.........after 10 years.

Honesty and hard work has it's own rewards. Remember that the kingdom of Heaven is the ultimate reward for those who do good in this world. Keep on doing your best and someone will take notice and help you along to a better life!!!

Read the story of Joseph again. If you're a Godly man then you should be looking to the Reward, not the reward on Earth.

Are you making enough to get by? Or are you worshiping the false god of money, living the sin of greed and envy? Take what you get and be thankful. Count your blessings every day. Are your kids healthy? Are you healthy? Do you love your wife? Does she love you? These are what matters.

Like everyone else you will have to work hard and be diligent to get ahead. I know of many people who have without having to screw anyone over. Just don't expect it to he handed to you. Anything worth having is worth working hard for.

First get an education. Don't say you're too old or can't afford it. You can afford what is important. And then you can set up your own company and be your own boss.

Getting a head: the head of every man is Christ, whose head is God, notably "the God of all grace", "that God" (of this/that Gods), "the only true God" (of false/true Gods), "the only wise God" (of foolish/wise Gods), "the living God" (of dead/living Gods), the higher God that is "higher than the heavens", higher than the God(Majesty) on "high" in (plural and divided) "heavens".

Solomon: "with all thy getting, get understanding", which when embraced results in thy head(Christ is the head of every man, whose head is God) being crowned with "grace" glory: Prov 4.

The "grace"(God) of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
