Jewish mysticism. The word Kaballah means "receive". This is knowledge received by Moses at Sinai and passed down orally only to a few each generation. What the Kaballah Center and others teach is not Kaballah, but just a few basic concepts that make people go "ooh, ahh" but have no real substance.
you spelled it just fine...it's tranliterated from hebrew, so anything that gets the pronounciation close is okay

Jewish mysticism. Although a branch of it crept into midieval Christian mysticism.
Alternative spelling is Quabalah -- you got it right however, and there are yet other spellings.

Go slowly. Take as much time as you need to be certain that you feel comfortable with it there before allowing him to actually start moving with any speed
You may want to try sitting on things the first few times, just to get used to it. It is easier that way.

It's sort of the idea that certain hebrew letters can be formed into words that have power. The whole story of the golem and bringing lcay to live comes from this. It also holds that their is a spark of God in us all and that someday we will return in a sense all the pieces of God as a more complete God.

There are many spellings of this ancient Hebrew wisdom; one being Kabbalah. You don't need an organization to study it...there are many books available. I would recommend Mystical Qabalah by Dion Fortune (the Amazon link is below).

It is a notion within religious Judaism that there is a mystical approach to life and learning which allows the purified soul a better understanding of the nature of God and the world. it is not a religion, only a mode of scholarship.

I don't know how to write it either. It's not something that everyone agrees on.
It's a religious book in Judaism and also High Magick (Not Wicca). Do not relate me to any of those, they kinda disgust me. =P
(No, really. They let me down as a would-be witch)

I know that part of it is about learning to take responsibility for what happens to you in your life, and to not blame other people and things for the way your life is.
