i just read this story... i think somewhere in afghanistan there is this muslim guy who convert himself to christian and the muslim people is so angry that they want to kill him!!

It is not " AS IF", nay it is. Those who convert to another religion from Islam, are to be put to death. Those who preach Muslims, are to be put to death, and those who praise other religion, are to be put to punished severally so they will learn never to do it again.
Many have been Killed for converting, many have died for not converting, and many have been forced to convert. These days, it is a big problem for the Christian in Egypt. Girls go missing, the police refuse to help, and months later they are discovered converted to Islam, and forced to marry a Muslim man to keep them in the faith. In India, two hindu girls were forced to convert, and when the family found them, they couldn't even sit with them in private to talk. They had a Muslim woman watch them all the time. Keeping the kids and the parents appart.
It is not all Muslims who use force to convert others to their faith, but they consider it their duty to convert as many people as possible to Islam, not all by force, but some do, and when one of their leave Islam it is as a slap on the face of how one of them chose to convert while they are trying to convert all of us to Islam.
Convert are to be put to death because they abondened their faith. They don't have the freedom to choose.

In Islam, one of the biggest sins is converting from Islam to another religion. These Muslims are incorrect by threatening to kill this man however. This man has a right to do whatever he wants. If he converted to Christianity, it's up to God to decide his punishment, not humans. So they shouldn't be doing this. These men are fanatics, that's why they hate this man. Moderate muslims would have no problem with this.

This is not true. This person converted to Christianity 16 years ago, and even at the time of the Taliban no body cared for him or killed him, recently he decided he wanted to go and live in Italy and the west find it a good propagnda against Islam and this is the whole story.

There is a belief in some parts of the world that if you convert away from a religion, you are actaully attacknig the religion you are leaving. Thus, some people will defend the religion by attacking those who have left.
This not only affects Islam you know.

Well for one thing they quit being muslim when they convert. Being muslim is relgious they are what ever nationality they are still.
Too many many muslims its seen as an insult or even a sign of the weakness of Islam is someone willingly leaves it. Freedom or choice has really never been an option.

every religion have rules God put them to regulate our lifes ..... in Islam anyone can have any religion whatever it is and live in peace , once u r a muslim u can't go back that's the rules , religions is a series of evolutionary steps , Jew and then Christianity and the last step of perfection is Islam once u reached the end u can't go back agian it's done it's what God said in our holy book Quraan and we r convinced with it that's the true believe it or not .

well..was the story true? anyway Islam doesnt encourage killing it just people are mad coz it's not the norm..
please, people out there stop being racist in religion..
Respect each other religion like we do in Malaysia..even prophet Muhammad respect those who follow other religion n never he forced other people to convert in Islam. Willingness is the key.

Because moving away from their faith is viewed as traitor, I believe, or a blasphemer toward Allah. So in this case the person should die.
