Statistically, couples who wait at least a year to get married tend to reduce the risk of divorce than couples who knew each other for less than a year.
The reason behind this is that people change like the weather and the seasons. So you said you knew "John Doe" for 10 months and let's say you get married now, everything has been great for 10 months. So next month, the 11 month he starts changing psychologically, like throws temper tantrums out of the blue and then the 12 month he gets really obsessive and depressed and starts gambling. Now I'm not saying he will or he won't, just making a point. But wait you're already married! You didn't see that coming! That's why you should wait a year first to see how things go before you tie the knot.

First of all, a marriage means a lot of responsibilities and also must be done under some premises. What I mean by that? Watch:
1) To get married, you must be sure that this man is THE MAN OF YOUR LIFE and you will share the rest of your life with him. Are you ready for that?
2) To decide if you want to get married, YOU MUST BOTH BE READY FOR THE NEXT STEP. So, have first a nice talk about that.
3) Have you enough money? A marriage is expensive nowadays. It's not only the procedure but it's also your life afterwards.
3) You must find a place to live and you should have money to afford it.
4) When you get married, you are not alone. THERE ARE RELATIVES THAT YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH. Think about it, it's really important.
5) Marriage also mean kids. When you get married, you are supposed to be both of you ready to have kids.
6) DON'T get married, if you feel that there are some things that you have to do first (e.g. you want to travel a lot)

Wait another year before you start planning your wedding. If you want to have a large wedding and are on a budget it will take about a year and a half to plan it. That will give you guys time to make sure you're ready and work out any problems that might arise in the meantime. How long have you been engaged? Why are you questioning it? If you got engaged quickly and are now having second thoughts wait until you're sure he's the one.

When you are both ready to spend the rest of your life together, when you feel you know th eperson enough and trust in him. When your ready is the right time.

In my case, I meet my husband for about 1 year as friends, after that we were boyfriend girlfriend for about 5 months and then got married in the same month we got engaged.

When you feel ready. nobody can tell you when is right for you to get married. I got married after only 8 months and we are still happy together over a year later. If you need to ask this question, then you arent ready yet.

Age is not a factor, nor time dating. What is important is:

Do both of you have decent jobs and a decent place to live?

If you do not have a good roof over your head, and food on the table, love will not last. The stress is just too much for both of you.
