Cokeologist, duh! Do you think I don't know that? What does that have to do with anything? I'm talking about spelling here, not grammer...
P.S. I capitalized the letters, happy?

That's not the worst! The level of literacy demonstrated here is underwhelming.

When this question was asked about a month ago, it was pointed out that not everyone here speaks the English Language very well, and spell check does NOT pick up everything (this I know because I was quite sure I had butchered a word a few nights ago and spell check didn't see it, so it was posted as it was).
I don't worry about it, I can spell phonetically, so I can usually figure out what the asker (or answerer) is trying to say.

Very good question. I've wondered the same thing. My guess is that the IM and text message culture is teaching us all sloppy habits, and spelling is considered the job of your word processing program.. If anyone wants to get ahead or be taken seriously in the modern world, where the competition is siff, good spelling and grammar are essential. A strong vocabulary is also essential. Without the ability to use the language to communicate, no one will know what the heck you are thinking about, compadre. Comprende?

Let's start. This is just a sample !
LOLA: YOU MISSPELLED GRAMMAR (you wrote grammer should you decide to edit) and you need to use a capital letter to start a sentence or question. Don't you find it ironic that the person huffing and puffing regarding spelling can't even spell the word grammar right ? This is only about spelling and not about grammar ? They belong together .
Dan Soschin : 3 mistakes
LeBo : 3 plus horrible structure.
janef: sentence started with "And" plus the use of "I mean" (useless here)
Lindy B : it's "it's"
Lupin IV: mostly mostly and he seems to confuse their and there while insulting people's education.

I agree, it's quite annoying. Might be due to fact that so many answerers shouldn't be answering questions because they are not smart enough. Also, they are pretty young, so they just don't have the brains yet. They've spent their childhood playing video games and eating Fritos instead of learning how to spell (or click the Check Spelling link above the text box).
Also, it might be due to the fact that alot of people on this thing are not native English speakers...
I think it is laziness though...

That is probably one of the most popular questions around here. I think sometimes, its a case of English as a second language so the translation is off. Other times its intentional bad spelling as a different way to communicate. And other times, its simply bad spelling. I also think the use of alternative spelling for text messaging has altered the way we communicate electronically.

People do not care! Spell-check is available. It is annoying. Try being a teacher. Technology is the downfall!! People are basically lazy and look for the easy way out. No accountability in society.
Try having a superintendent or boss that doesn't even use his or her spell-check. Annoying !!

The spelling is bad enough, but what really gets me is the total ineptness when it comes to grammar. Do they not teach these things in school anymore?

lol knowing grammar is going to extinction! Forget about the spelling.
Now.. ask yourself why as a country Americans do so poorly in languages. This is one of the reasons. They don't even know the grammar of their own language.
