Why is that men are so picky on how women look?

I think women are more picky about how women look. If a woman loves herself and expel confidence, even the most picky man takes notice. If the man is only there for the woman's looks, he doesn't want anything permanent and is very superficial. He wants and seeks attention and approval from others than being his own man.

Women are more picky on how they and other women look. Men only need to see a big pair of boobs.

Men are stimulated by sight more than women are. That's one of the reasons they like good looking women. Plus, some want hot chicks to show off to their mates - kinda like bragging. However, guys are also bitchy. If a guy has an ugly looking chick his mates will most probably say mean stuff about her, and he'll have to show his emotions by telling his mates to shut up. Guys don't like showing emotion, so any way to avoid it, they will.

Blame it on our ancestors.
When there were not too many people around, guys would look for attractive women (and women would look for strong, muscular guys) because attractive women would produce strong, healthy children.

It is still wired inside of all of us. Go for the good-looking people. Great children!!

I think it is a chemical release of some sort in the brain, I don't think people can help it. when you see someone that looks nice, it makes you feel good, each person has a different perception of what good looking is, so I don't buy that trophy on the arm thing. what is pretty to guys may not be pretty to gurls or other guys.

I believe it comes down to a lack of self image. Often, men are really little boys who want whatthey want.

Plus, some men have a certain look they like. No one can change that.

However, eventually, looks should leave and emotions should take over.

So, someone will like you for you.

Males of any species are genetically programmed to seek the most perfect mate to ensure strong, viable offspring. For the male this includes facial symmetry, wide hips, full lips, large breasts, nurturing attitude, etc. For the female this includes facial symmetry, muscle definition, ability to provide (wealth), and defend his family.
