Any day you feel you absolutely are not fit to be able to perform your job, you should call in sick.
If your sick, don't go to work, unless you feel like you are able to perform your job at 100%

Yes, you should call in every day, unless you have an injury or surgery or something where a doctor has certified that you are disabled until a particular date.
By the way, you should also be prepared to have a doctor's certificate when you go back to work if you are off more than three days. That's a law in some states, but it's a policy almost everywhere. The boss assumes that if you are not sufficiently ill to go to a doctor, then you are not sufficiently ill to stay home for more than a day or two. Colds and flu, other minor illnesses that are normally self-treated, generally don't last very long. If it is hanging on long enough for you to be too sick to work (rather than simply too sick to feel like working), then you need a doctor's certificate so that the boss knows you've been telling the truth, and so that a doctor can be sure it's not the symptoms of something more serious. Pneumonia can seem like a cold at first, and all sorts of horrible things can masquerade as the flu.

First rule in life: Never Assume Anything. Yes, definitely call in. You cannot assume your employer knows that you are ill. If you are going to be ill for more than 3 days, see a doctor. Get a note stating when you can return to work. Most of all: TALK WITH YOUR BOSS!!! Explain the situation. I've had both types of employees, those who ASSUMED I should know and those that called me every minute of the day. If you value your job, CALL!!

Yes, you should call in each day unless you specified exactly which days you were going to be out when you called the first time but I know you didn't so, yes call in sick again. Your boss will not assume you were sick but he will assume that you just didn't show in to work just because. It is especially important to call in each day if you work at a large company as there are many other employees to keep track of.
HOPE THIS HELPS

You should call in sick to confirm that your employer will not be on the look out for you. Business needs to be aware of absences in case they may need to call someone else in to cover the work load you are not able to do. As a team the work in distributed throughout and if one or more people are absent then the remaining people are left with a much larger work load, if this happens consistently in the office it can lead to stress from the excess work. In a larger office it is easier to manage but in a smaller business, 1 person can represent alot.

You should have some sort of employee handbook that gives you your work rules. When in doubt, call in. You don't want an "absent without leave" on your work record. Leave is something you have to request. Some times, if you are out for 3 work days, for example, the employer requires a doctor's excuse.

Yes, You should call daily. After 3 consecutive days off, you will need to bring in a Doc's note confirming your illness. Your employer could release you from employment without it. Read your employee's handbook for Policies.

Call in. Hopefully you saw a doctor during this illness; having a written statement from him, saying that you were under his care during the days you were absent from work, will help you avoid problems with the Human Resources department at work.
