If you have phono sockets on the back of your hi-fi AND your TV then you can connect via a 2phono to 2phono cable.

If you look at the back of the TV, you will find red and yellow female jack where it will be written audio in audio out, buy a 4 pin RCA connection and connect from your HIFI audio in to TV audio out, same way HIFI audio out to TV audio in.
It should work now. You can listen TV audio from HIFI and record as well.

simple quick answer.. buy a scart lead with red/white RCA plugs with it and connect the scart to tv,, and RCA lead to AUX in on hifi

unless you have audio out jacks on your tv, it would be very hard. Considering the amount of voltage present (even with the tv unplugged) I would not try and mess inside. If you know how to discharge the voltage, you can solder a set of wires to your tv speaker and solder rca jacks on the other end.
