Sometime in the 1800's I don't remember what year, a girl in boston wanted to celebrate her father, so she started celebrating on her fathers Birthday, it wasn't nationally recognized until President Johnson first brought it to attention, but I believe Nixon is the one who passed it to be considered an actual holiday...
