I'm in a wheelchair, and living with my mom. She has taken care of me since my AVM in 1991, where I was in a coma for 1 1/2 years. I am now in a wheelchair, and we think for me to be independent, I have to go to an assisted living facility, we don't have the finaces, so we have to have Medicaid pay for it. Please help.

Contact your local hospital. I'm almost certain that they would know of various facilities since they most likely deal with their patients from time to time.

You don't say how old you are or what part of the world you live in but...
call your community Action Program

Check into Senior (even if your not) or disability living communities

check into income assignment rental units (section 8)

Or a half way house.

First try getting in touch with the Medicaid office. They should be able to help you. If not try your hospital. They should be able to put you in touch with someone in the disabled persons office of the government. Good Luck
