If you think that the Bible is a literal description of the beginning of the world, then the "tree" which you refer to would have died long ago...after all, even in the counting of fundamentalist's ages, the world is AT LEAST 8000 years old. However, I believe that this a figurative, not literal, tree or trees, which are an example to us of the gifts that God has given us.

Yes they exist... in Eden, but we are no longer in Eden and we do not have access to Eden.
Still you can see both in the metaphorical sense everyday. Draw a family tree and you have a tree of life. Draw enough and you will see an entire Forrest. Every time a baby is born the tree of life continues to grow.
The same can be said for knowledge, just look at how much information the human race has accumulated in even just the last fifteen years. Information is growing exponentially. But we must never confuse information with knowledge. Everyone has access to information, we only truly have knowledge when we are able to process and analyze the information we have. Unfortunately very few people do this. Besides, with the amount of information we have today, I don't think there are enough people to analyze it all.

It did exist at a time, but when Adam and Eve ate of the fruit God hid the garden from us.

Genesis 3:24
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

So, now some people think that we have no way of being saved since God gaurds the tree of life, the tree that would save us if we ate of it. However, God gavee us a new tree of life, Jesus.

Acts 16:31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

They will be in the New Jerusalem Revelation 22:1-21 Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

2 in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

The Genesis story, I believe, is a parable...a story told to teach a lesson.

The "Tree of Knowledge" was forbidden. Why? Well, look around you. What use has mankind made of the knowledge he has gained so far?

The "Tree of Life" was lost. Why would God allow us to live forever in the state the world is in? Who would want to?

Can we regain the Tree of Knowledge? I beleive so. We can allow God's Spirit to dwell within us, teaching us all knowledge!

Can we regain the Tree of Life? Yes! The gift of God is eternal life!

God bless you!!

No man knows.

The bible is silent about it (the tree of knowledge). And we are disciplined by the bible not to exceed in what is written (I Corinthians 4:6).

The information about the tree of life was written in Revelation 2:7; Revelation 22:2, 14

As I read it, I see no reason not to think they were real trees. On that assumption, if they still exist, and there's no way to know, they are in the Garden of Eden, exact location unknown, and sealed to mankind after Adam and Eve were driven out.

By Christian Faith, Yes they do. They are still where they have always been. We, mortals, just can not get to them. (Genesis Chapt 1 v24)
