How important is morality in your life? Are there times when you would give up your morals for either your own personal gain or for the good of someone else? If yes, when would these be?

Treating others the way one wishes to be treated.
That includes respect and forgiveness for things done unknowingly...taking responsibility fr one's actions...not being a parasite in financial, physical, emotional and spiritual way...and respecting other's religious beliefs without claiming one's own religion to be superior to the rest.

You see - most priests and politicians don't qualify!

Being 'moral' is simply a version of 'doing unto others'. It is not about personal gain, nor necessary 'for the good of someone else.' If these are the 'reasons' for you to be moral, then morality is not at the core of your decisions. I believe that most people think of themselves as moral...looking at the things that they do, we may judge them not to be operating in that way. It is not a matter of 'importance'...it is a way of living in harmony with those around me.

I am not sure.

Morals are an idea created by a person who put those ideas into a book called the bible.

It is just a social structure based on something made up.

It is a relative concept based on cultural constraints.

I can prove it by asking you to look at other countries. I can tell you I dont share my moral system as they do. Just look at Iraq, or sebia, or many africian countries. They have morals, but they are very different than mine.

Without morals we could be close to animals.
It should be a principle in life , not a choice of convenience.
It is simple to live with morals, every one can find a way to adhere to morals.
In my way, I respect all people as much as I respect myself.

Morality is subjective, what's considered moral in one culture is considered immoral in another. Anyone who follows the moral code dictated by their society is a moral person. And anyone who claims to be moral in the name of a god is surely deluding themselves.

Morality is a guiding compass. Without it, no personal gain is worth it. So, I wouldn't trade my morals for personal gain.
