I hate when Christians or other religions say that isn't right to be Gay to someone that is/or/ not. While Christians think their pure Christians, when their have been times when Christians commit murder and such brutal force and still think their Christian, That's like saying when you kill someone you'll go to heaven, and that lady's and gentlemen that's a lie. The Christians that don't like Gay's should be focusing on their own selves and stop butting into Gays Private Lives. To the few Christians who likes Gays and hope their is many more of you soon in the future-AMEN!

Hating someone makes the hater feel empowered. When the hatred can be shared in a group, the feeling of power is overwhelming. It also justifies hatred to the hater.

Also, stereotyping helps create an atmosphere of ignorance, which can encourage others to hate.

For example, not all Christians hate gays. Your question makes a blanket statement implying that all Christians hate gays. Only a very small minority hate gays to the point of trying to create a ban on gay marriage.

Now, you're not meaning all Christians, but merely a selection of them, but your language could be used to promote hatred toward Christians.

That being said, hate is not going to go away unless we point out bigotry, ignorance, and irrational thinking. Hate mongering tends to make some people popular, and helps to reinforce stereotypes and bigotry. (Just pick up an Ann Coulter book, and you can only imagine who really believes her crap.)

As Christians would say, hate the sin, not the sinner. You should rephrase your question in a rational manner attacking the sin of hatred in particular, not the people engaging in the sin.

The reason for this is that all people are capable of reason, and as such some are prone to ignorance which leads them to wrongful thinking.

Lastly, hatred toward gays is based on cultural ignorance. I think more people are getting it that gays are just people with a few wires connected differently, but they're just people like anyone else.

Change will come. We just have to be patient with those who are ignorant, and help them to see the truth in things.

Peace.

This question has been debated on this site many times. Christians are not the only homo-phobics. Layoff the Christians and focus on all groups that are homophobic. I do not agree with the homosexual lifestyle, but I am still friends with homosexuals.

Atheist and others do the same, but they focus on the Christians, and I think they have a double standard. Most people do. They want to find someone else to focus on instead them.

Atheist and others think they are perfect and are free thinkers, but I believe that they aren't because they tend to focus on those that disagree with them. Every group does the same thing.

There isn't anyone out there that is not narrow minded about an issue or group. Too many bigots in this world, period!! There are also too many people or groups trying to prove they aren't bigots, but they attack anothers ideology. Counter-productive!!

Get a life!! Live and Let Live without judging. No one seems to be able to do this!!!

It's not that they hate them. They just don't approve of it. Just like we don't approve of pedophiles. Just because they are sexually attracted to kids and that's where they feel fulfilled. It doesn't make it right or not a sin. We have all sinned and came short of the glory of God. That's why his son Jesus died for us. He did makes us robots. He made us human. We have the choice to act on our sinful nature. That's why we don't like it. Our society is be coming more excepting of this sinful life style. Then before you know it. The pedophiles will want people to think it's all right for them too. I understand why you are defensive. You don't want to admit that it's wrong and the harm it causes. Just like most people. You want what makes you happy and fulfills you. You don't want anyone telling you it's wrong. Neither do all the smokers, cheater, thieves and so on. If you have faith and believe and live a christian life. The holy spirit will take your sinful desires away. But not if you don't want it . God has given you a choice. As a Christian I can't approve. I say this out of love. All though you won't believe that.

I'm no christian but there is this:

Leviticus 20:13: If a man lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death.

I think that it came out of a need to populate and spread your genetic seed. I'm sure somebody was grossed out by it and said "This has got to be a sin."

Personally I think you should be free to do what ever you want.

To answer your question they do that because its in leviticus and romans in their Bible that God has made homosexuality a sin.

He's also made wearing clothes of different fiber a sin, just to put these things in perspective.

I guess if God loves the sinner but hates the sin then God really would love people even if their sin is wearing clothes of different fiber or if their sin was homosexuality.

As for me I'm not God so I really can't say I care one way or another if a man wants a man or a woman or a shirt made out of silk and cotton that really doesn't affect my family.

I do not hate gay people. I have a few friends who are gay, and think the world of them as FRIENDS of mine and as human beings. I do not have to approve of their relationship, they know what I believe, but they know I love them just the same. Someday, I may do something they don't approve of either. It would be nice for me if they continue to love me through it. That is how I see it. No, I will NOT vote yes for gay marriages, as my religion thinks it is wrong, but I don't hate my friends by any means, just as my friends won't have to feel pressured to show support for anything I do that they feel is not right.
