The question should be why are religious leaders downgrading the value of scientific exploration? Is it because they are afraid what will be discovered will disprove religious dogma?

I think it is possible to believe in faith and Charles Darwin. Like everything people pick and choose what they want to believe. Maybe God did create the earth, but what about all those animals that have become extinct? Is that possibly survival of the fittest? and if you just look at the things around you, they are constantly evolving. However, I still believe there is a higher being, I believe he makes some choices but that he allows us to make some as well.

It is not very hard to grasp what Darwin says and to believe in God too. Why must we insist that it is one way or the other. What is written in the Bible is a humans account, albeit, divinely influenced, but I somehow do not get the impression that they were, especially because of divine influence, interested in the telling of physiology and natural selection when we hadn't got to that part yet. The story that is in the bible of creation holds no more improbability for me than the amazing ability for living being to metamorphosis to adapt to our environment and climate and the availability of a food source. The bible version in fact is incomplete don't you think? Probably because God already knew that Charles Darwin would fill us in.

I agree with old Darwin because it makes sense, but I also like the feeling of a God; so that He will catch me if I fall, and I know that whatever happens He is there, so I'm never frightened because with God, there is no need to be.
I think with a lot of people it's a comfort thing, which is why it hurts so much when people say it isn't true.

Well Mr Grumpy whether you want to admit there is a God or not you still have faith. You either have faith that God exists or some other deity or you have faith that nothing is there. Do you know it takes more faith to say that their is no god than to say that their is. By the way if you claim to be an atheist you are a 'FOOL'. The Bible says 'The fool has said in his heart there is no God.' So if you want to blame anybody for calling you a fool blame the bible. To blame the bible you have to blame God because they are his words. To blame God means you must believe in him. To believe in him means you aren't a fool after all. At least we've got past that pathetic idea after all.

Charles Darwin was a man who had some good ideas but he was hardly perfect. He wrote in his work that black people were a less evolved form of human.

First of all its called Darwins theory of evolution, suggesting its only a theory but a theory that is well supported and the best answer to the question of our origin so far. However it is essential to understand that the biological origin of the human being is still a mystery and far from being established inspite of having decoded the entire human genome. Therefore its not surprising that a majority of us turn to faith to explain all the questions we have in life.

We most of mankind has misunterstood the god and faith.The supreme soul is everywhere and there is no religion.some messiahs have tried to explain the truth but peole followed blindly/intentionally to form sect and religion for their own interest and demarkation to keep the power.need of the hour is understanding that we all including animals,birds,nature,elements are one and only one.there is no other 2.
the whole cosmic theory is that everything is programmed here and destined.there is no thing called sin and bad if there is no comparison.Darwin or any seintist are able to postulate/invent from this ONE only that is from this nature only.kindly show me if anybody invented anything from space out of nothing...
so live in this day and feel the wholeness of life with the nature.every movement on this cosmos has meaning and it is related to you directly or indirectly.it's perfectly created maintained and destructed over some period of time.
everydays "SLEEP" phenomena makes it self clear that u r not attached to anything and death is just within you.
