We are leaving for vegas monday and I am planning a surprise proposal and I want to know how to get the ring through security without them exposing it from my carry on or her seeing it, can anyone help??

I cant Fed ex it we are leaving tomorrow and it being sunday I cant put that together...What if I put it in my camera bag? Wil that work?

It won't be exposed. You can have jewelry in your carry-on and no one is going to scream out loud and expose it. People carry jewelry all the time - and the x-ray screen is not in view of passengers. Keep it in your carry-on to go through the conveyor. If you have it in your pocket, it might set off the detectors and you will have to remove it from your pocket, so keep it in a bag!!

There are several ways to pull this off.
If you don't mind doing a few calls ahead of time, I'm sure the airline folks would love to help out. If by some chance not, check with TSA.
A ring won't set off the metal detector, so tuck it your pocket and walk through. Just don't have anything else on that would trip the detector.
Tuck it in the carry on, or take it out of the box, and place in your billfold.. Most of the x-ray machines face security not the passenger.
One last idea, if you want to make 100% sure she doesn't see it. Fedex it to yourself at the hotel. Call the hotel before you leave, let them know that it is a personal gift and not to say anything when your package arrives. Then just sneak down to the desk and pick it up.
I think you will be surprised at how many folks will be willing to help, for the most part people are still romantics at heart.

Just keep it in your carry on. You will be fine. If for some odd reason you are a selectee or a full search then they will go through your bag. Don't put it in your checked luggage, there could always be a delay in your baggage, never put valuables in there. Good luck, you should be fine.

You can carry it on you, or in a carry-bag with you. The security staff are looking for weapons, not your ring. So just just carry it on you, in a bag so that it can clear security without her seeing it.

it's a ring, it should go through with no problem. but you can put it in a coat pocket then send the whole coat through xray. put all your keys and change and everything in the coat so it seems logical that you would just take it off instead of emptying the pockets.

you should not have any problems getting through the security posts, it is just a ring.
