Ooops. Just a few minutes ago I was doing laundry and right before I put the detergent in I remembered I had a fuji 256 MB XD card in a little pocket of a shirt. It was in a little plastic pouch but it wasn't a waterproof one and water got in it. It was cold water and like I said no detergent. Is there a chance it might still work once it dries?
At least there wasn't any pics still on it...

I remember reading an article somewhere a while ago that modern memory cards are virtualy indestructible...... they were tested by boiling them, being trampled on, washed, dunked in coffee or cola, then nailed to a tree.

(I've even managed to find the blinkin' article again)

As long as you did not put it in a camera or a card reader, it maybe ok. Just make sure it is dried completely. There are two concerns: 1) Electrical short. If you don't pass electric current through, you are fine. 2) Corrosion. If you don't have bleach in the water you should be ok. The chip inside should be passivated so you should not damage it.

sorry the likelyhood of it working is slim and nun. if the card got wet in this case it did the circuits inside got wet.
there is a very good chance that it will not work.

sorry

Theres no moving parts as long as you dry it completely and get the images out incase it starts to corrode

This memory card is probably o.k. since there are no moving parts.
