I am a Catholic. If you have questions ask your parish priest. Don't listen to the warped mind of sunpeakes. He is on a JW mission and has a blinkered view of life.
I will send you an email

I enjoyed reading these answers , esp the little exchange between two of them , it's not very often we get different religions actually arguing among themselves (not nowadays, but it used to be the 'in thing')
It is actually the Roman Catholics who are in the right here (Rosary or not) The other groups that broke away from the 'united ' church and went their own way are (religiously) in the wrong!
I of course am an atheist, but I really do enjoy seeing these religious groups having a debate on their various differences, esp when all sides don't really have a clue what their own specific religion is all about, (they certainly don't have a clue what other religions are all about)!.
A very simple example is that most people who have an inbred hatred for Islam will say "Muslims don't worship God or even believe in God, they pray to Allah" ( In case this is causing confusion, God is Allah, and Allah is God)
It is really all very interesting but I'm pretty sure that if more people read more about the comparative religions there would be only one conclusion to reach!! It's all complete BS!!
I have a very vague idea that this will not gain me many points, but I really enjoyed getting my bit in here.

I have a very dear friend of my family who is a priest, so if I don't know the answer I could always ask him and let you know. Feel free to contact me. I wonder if you'd like to hear from those who were raised Catholic, but have had reason to turn from the faith? What bought this about in them, what were they unhappy with? What peace have they found elsewhere?
A mind is similar to a parachute. They both work best when open!

I was Raised a catholic........ for twelve long yrs I accepted and collected upon my body the memories of Gods love for me. These were administered by my priest in the name of Jesus.
I grew tired of living in fear of a cruel and intolerant God.

You can start pray to statue and says is St....whoever.
Look for the butchers of earth and you'll find your religion. Any memories of the Crusades, or the destruction of Constantinople.
Raping of altar boys and orphans. Incest, cheating and lying.
Participation on massacres and military coups with genocide. Tell me something what is to rescue, from all this garbage?

i don't find the catholic religion offensive or any other religion, as long as they don't expect me to live by whatever their personal rules and logics are. i don't find the rosary offensive, it is a method of meditation which is what pray is.
meditation helps create an open mind. i think the think i find in all religions that i don't like is hypocracy.
