You can get a really nice one for free from your local dog shelter. And adopting him will save him from the gas chamber.

The question you should be asking is, "Am I sure I WANT a Jack Russell?" They are extremely bright, inquisitive and very difficult to train if you're not very experienced and up to the challenge. They will dig up your yard and bark all day if left outside where they can see the world passing by. They will dash around an apartment, jumping on and off the furniture, until you and your downstairs neighbors are insane. They will play tug-of-war with your kid's clothes and steal anything just to get you to chase them. They will also torment your cat and kill your kid’s hamsters. Hell of a lot of fun or frustration - take your pick! I love and own terriers, but I've never recommened a JR to someone else. An awful lot of them end up in the shelters.

It really depends on the dog you want! If you want a champion then contact the Kennel Club and they'll give you contacts with known and registered breeders. Do you want your new dog to be a show dog or only a pet? That's where the difference is pricewise!
Good breeders have some puppies who are, not only KC registered but also in good health and good dogs but will not make it to shows. They usually sell them cheaper than top dogs.
Sometimes you can find advertised quite cheap but beware! They may be KC registered but bred badly so yu can end up with a host of problems.
Good luck!

go on a site called epupz.com. They have people selling pups on there in england. You can find breeders in your area and a rough guide on prices. If your after a pedigree up to £500 if not from £90 to £250!
mine was £175 and he isn't pedigree, but be sure to see the pups with parents and they all seem healthy. Make sure they have been vet checked and wormed before bringing one home.

This is subjective question, and it depend on the country you are from, the reputation of the breeders, and the parent of the puppy.
In Singapore, it can range from S$250 to S$800. The better breed in Singapore are from Australia. I understand that it is much cheaper in Australia.
In Jakarta, I got one for less than S$100.

It's about 10-15 pounds depending. It will usually feed a family of three for 2-3 meals.

They can range in price from £100 to £300 depends on quality of the breed.
But personally i would go to your local rescue centre an give an abandoned dog a good home.
Good look in whatever you decide to do.

if you have the time it should be real easy to get a rescue jack russell as they tend to get too lively and snappy for people so they get dumped in a rescue. You might need to retrain him/her a bit though.
Alternatively local papers that have a classified section will always have loads of pups in.

Put your name in at the local shelter and tell them to call you when they get one in. For a small fee you can adopt one and save his life.
