I think you had things mixed up.
Jihad in Islam means, not only for sufi's and yasidi's, the struggle against bad self motivation, Jihad means teaching Islam to the others, jihad means traveling far from home to learn something good for humans, jihad means saying the right thing, the truth in front of a tyrant and jihad means defending you self , your family , your land, your religion.
That is Jihad in Islam as a religion, some people chose to close their eyes on this fact , and consider the killers are the only Muslims and they are practicing Jihad, it is a choice made by the media which is trying to brand Jihad AS they way of killing only.
We know the real Islam and the real Jihad.

Thanks For your Question :)
Im a Muslim and Jihad in Arabic means to Struggle, to Strive
and in Islam it mean three things :
Islamic meaning
1) Non-violent struggling within oneself for a life of virtue
2) Saying the truth, even if against ones’ own interests
3)Combat to establish justice, which is a supreme goal
Combat orders as in the traditions of Prophet Mohammad:
– Never Kill Innocent People
– Never torture Prisoners of War
– Never Kill Animals
– Never Destroy Crops
– Never Destroy Infrastructures
– Never Mutilate Bodies of Enemies dead or alive
– All Prisoners Given Fair Treatment
– Women, Children & Elderly Protected From
Harm
– Always Bury All Dead With Respect
Note: 1,400 Years BEFORE Geneva Convention and Human Rights

Jihad means spiritual struggle in all of Islam, not just in Sufism and Yasidism. One should be careful to follow the will of God and not fall pray into following "sects" of Islam. This warned to us during the time of the Prophet, that Muslims would branch out into sects, similar to Christianity. There should be no sects in Islam. Islam is one for all and all for one. The only difference in our worship to Allah (swt) should be following this school of jurisprudence or that school of jurisprudence.

Well I am not sure what yasidism is, but yes I surely agree that sufis' are tolerant people, but let us define a suft, who is a sufi?
sufi is a person who has renounced the world and devoted himself completely to god. sufi as such is not a sect of islam it is a way of life, yes they do adopt good ideas from other religions and why not, infact every religion can learn something from each other.

ISLAM IS TOLERANT..
i havent heard of anybody converting to sufism!!!
n by the way ..
jihad has many forms... n all of them r obligatory
1) jihad bin nafs... this is the jihad in which u fight against the evil by ur own life .. ur prepared to even give ur life to fight agaisnt the evil .. eg right now against the evil bush ... or agaisnt the evil israel!
2) jihad bin maal.. this is the one in which u fight by givin ur money for the rigth causes..
3) jihad bil qalm: thats in which u WRITE against the evil n try to bring ppl to the right cause by writing eg in newspapers , on the internet etc
4) jihad bil lisaan: in which u fight against the evil by SPEAKING.
5) n the last one .. is the one in which u fight against the EVIL MIND.. or the worldly wishes n evil thoughts...
ALL OF THESE R JIHAD N MUSLIMS HAVE TO DO ALL OF THEM!!!!
theres nothing in islam that u do one thing n leave the other!!!
n anyways islam tells us to adopt the good things from anyone wether he/she might be a christan, a jew or a hindu etc etc....
n what "abouterachess" wrote is totally true.. N THAT IS ISLAM!!!!!!!

lets get one thing straight sufi and yasidism are deviated groups that were not around at all during the prohets time.and sunni's dont believe in killing innocent lives either.we sunni's also believe in jihad of the mind.when a muslim struggles not to commit a certain sin this is considered jihad of the mind

As prophet Muhammad explained. (can't remember the accurate Hadith) that islam will be divided into 73 sections all of them in Hell except one.
here is an advice for you. religion is not what yourself is desire, but it's what God wants you to do.
and blowing up inocent people are not in Islam.
