The monks of the Middle Ages grew mullen for a number of ailments, especially those associated with coughs and congestion. One of its common names was "bullocks lungwort," taken from a common home cure used to treat cattle with coughs and pneumonia. Sap from the crushed leaves of the plant is said to alleviate the pain of insect bites.

Most plants can regenerate if even a fraction of their total mass is left intact. their cells can spontaneously revert to being stem cells and become roots or leaves etc. It's very very hard to kill a plant , for something as willow for example you can even get commercial products , that has wood that dried for several years , when it come into contact with moisture the furniture will spontaneously start to bout. Plants , are the hands down champions in regeneration when it comes to life on this planet .
