That people weren't put down for their religion so much, or even whether or not they believe in God. That if people say anything it shouldn't be arguements, but sharing your faith, or your belief that God does not exist, rather than insulting can you share, can you please be mature? ie- Grown up, or are the "people" I see that keep insulting eachother in the Religious/Spirituality section just ten years old?

Let us remember that you cannot hate a group of people, because not all of them think alike, not all of them don't like you, so before saying one religion hates you, so you can't stand them, remember not EVERYONE in that religion thinks the same way, we are all individuals with strong beliefs.

I admit, I have to restrain myself sometimes.

My rule is attack the ideas, not the person.

Maybe it would help, if people thought about how when you indulge in name calling, and personal attacks, you damage your own cause.

I mean; how likely is someone to change his mind, as a result of being called an idiot?

Oh Shell

I've worked with many Muslims. If they hate Christians, they hide it well.

I think they are similar to Christians. Each group is sure it has the correct supernatural belief.

You are right about violence. When fanatics attack us, we can't reason with them, they need to be destroyed.

We are at war with the fanatics who attacked us, not with Muslims in general. Please understand this. It's very important.

I dont know i think a lot of the world is really tolerant. as long as you respect the rituals of the majority. i spend a lot of my time traveling and i am a minor relgion in every country and i have found a positive responce to learnging something new. and have gotten to learn many good things about other relgions too. i think it just depends on the attitude that you approch a possible confrontation. have an open mind. i learnt that from a buddist monk in thailand. :)

Yes.

But the sad thing is we cannot really judge people (even those who judge us), especially if we don't contribute to their consciousness... We have to be able to help mold the consciousness of people. It's easy to spew out platitudes. It's easy to succumb to self-righteousness. But to actually reach out and make a difference in a person's life and perspective... that's a great challenge. It takes ACTIVE concern to be able to make a difference. We have to ask ourselves, "What am I doing to make a difference? Am I truly trying to enlighten the path of at least one blind soul? Am I REALLY trying to do so? Or am I simply trying to assert myself -- to show that I am better than others, to deny that I am actually nothing but a husk full of doubts?"

It's a difficult thing. Acceptance is a delicate art. So is tolerance.

“We can never judge the lives of others, because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. It's one thing to feel that you are on the right path, but it's another to think that yours is the only path.” --- Paolo Coelho

Yes I wish the world were a more tolerant place but some things i just can't stand. I don't like muslims, because they hate Christians. Before you can be tolerant others have to be also.
When someone wants to kill you, it is hard to be loving.
Yet, we probably should be

God made the place we lived in so that he gets the best out of us... that we may have the choice to choose what life we rather live ...
I wish we stayed in a tolerant world but some choose not to....
You see, you cannot change the world but start the change within yourself...

in a way yes, but also no.
i would like for people to be respectful and listen to each other.
but.
some people honestly believe idiotic things for idiotic reasons.
sometimes you have to shake them a few times to put some sense into their heads.
or beat them with a paddle. whatever works.
everyone else i like and respect.
people who insult each other have nothing intelligent to say, so don't listen to them. if they did, they wouldn't resort to insults.
