If not wear something smart / casual you'll look fine for most places. Don't worry though, I'm sure you're dad won't mind what you look like. (And shouldn't it be you taking him out?)

I don't believe in fathers day, it's ridiculous. Because if you do your token duty on that day, then fathers can be ignored for the rest of the year.
