If your worried about alcohol content, it flashes off during cooking. Use the real thing or sub the near beer , which would give the same flavor as the real beer.

Actually depending on what is used on... you may use Cold Club Soda....
For example I use cold club soda for beer-battered chicken fingers with a little of pancake mix.

Well, if you were going to use an american macro brew to make it, a good substitute would be water, cause there isn't much of a difference. If you are able to get some German water, you are just that much closer to american macro brew.

Ummm....... not really, apart from maybe cider/cyder...... but if it's the alcohol content you worried about most of it gets evaporated away when cooking.
