You can crush the chewable 50mg tablets. Everything else is extended release so you should not crush it.

Yes it can be crushed. Add it to a teaspoon of honey or jam. Crushing the tablet or swallowing the tablet makes no difference apart from the taste if its not a slow realease tablet. Both ways are absorbed through the stomach and into the bloodstream.
Usually placing a tablet or drops directly under the tongue results in the medication being absorbed by the body quicker, however dilantin maybe bitter hence the suggestion of jam or honey.
My neice is epileptic and Im a nurse whos been caring for Elderly & Disabled (epileptic) patients for the past 15 years! We usually hide their tablets in a spoonful of their food and they eat them (chew them up and swallow them) without even knowing.
Good Luck

I think Dilantin comes in an extended form. I wouldn't crush them puppy.
The regular Dilantin is probably crushable. There is a suspension form of dilantin and if that is true dilantin can be crushable. But why crush it when you has a suspension form.
Agree with comments from above. Check with a pharmacist first.

A dilantin capsule should NEVER be crushed. There is, however, a 50 mg "infatab" which CAN be crushed.

My guess is no. Most pills are in the form they are in because they are "slow released" into the body. You should check with your pharmacist to make sure before you try it. If your having problems swallowing it, your pharmacist should be able to offer you some suggestions to help with taking it.
