This is my favorite way to fix baked potatoes. Scrub potatoes well. Slice potatoes almost all the way through about 1/4" the length of the potato. Put a slice of onion into each slice you have made in the potato. You can fix these 3 different ways: Put into a baking dish, pour one cap full of extra virgin olive oil (evoo) over each potato, then salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Bake at 350 for 30-45 min. Depends on how many you fixed. Next way: put into a plastic sandwich bag, add the evoo, salt, pepper, and garlic powder; fold bag over to close (don't seal) and cook in microwave. The last way (and possibly the best) is to place each potato on aluminum foil, add the evoo, salt, pepper, and garlic powder; wrap up and cook them on a grill. Taste great. Of course, the seasonings can be changed to whatever you prefer, and you have to like onions! Hope this helps.

Pre-heat oven to about 375 - 400ºF

Scrub any dirt off skin of potato under the hot tap, dab dry with paper kitchen towel.

Stick the potato onto a "Potato Spike", trying not to impale your hand in the process.

Stick potato in the oven for about 45minutes - 1hour

Remove potato from oven, slice down the middle, stick a nob of salted butter between the 2 halves.

I thoroughly scrub mine and then lightly coat them in an extra virgin olive oil that's been infused with herbs. I like rosemary myself. Then sprinkle the entire jacket with course salt and set on a baking sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for about 45 minutes or so.

The olive oil and salt give the skins flavor and crispness and helps the insides bake up tender and moist. Serve with sour cream, butter, chives, or grated cheese. Enjoy!

quick and easy>I use Idaho russet potatoes> wash the potatoe skin under running water then poke some holes in the potato with a fork or a knife, pot on a plate and nuke it in the microwave for a couple of minutes, usually the new microwaves have a button or option just for Baked potatoes.....serve topped with, your choice.....Butter, cheese sauce, bakon bits, cream cheese, sour crean, chives, the list goes on........

I buy potatoes sealed in clear plastic. You don't do anything with them. You leave the plastic on and you don't even poke holes in them. You just put them in your microwave for about 10 mins and they are done. They taste great!!!
