the splitting up into denominations? Wouldn't christianity have a much better reputation and wouldn't we all get along better within it if it wouldn't have went off in all different directions?

I am a christian. I grew up as baptist. I have been hearing things about the baptist church for years that did not make me happy. I would like to find a denomination that goes strictly by the bible and doesn't drag in all of this extra stuff and doesn't fight and blah, blah, blah. But, that is just never going to happen.

Trust me, there are problems with "non-denominatianal" churches too.

All these denominations come about when man put up doctrines that are not of God...
Therefore living in the last days will be hard for you to find one that lives by his Word...
God does not see your outward appearances, he looks at your heart
Christ is the only way to Heaven... not what kind of denomination you are in... at lease you have Christ in your heart...

The Catholic Church is spreading like fireplace in a field of oil in South usa and Africa and factors of Asia. the position you're isn't the international of the following day even if that is for in the present day. therefore this superb e book. I dare you to study it the subsequent Christendom: the arriving of international Christianity (Hardcover) ~ Philip Jenkins "the evidence that in the present day's best faith, Christianity, will advance exponentially, too, and could proceed to be the religion of the most important percentage of humanity. even if the Christianity of 2050 will be very distinct from that molded through the a million, three hundred years in which Christianity became the religion of a right away arising Europe."

You are forgetting the scripture that says the tares will grow with the wheat.

Matt 13
24Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

So, my point is that every denomination will have their tares. Tares are there for your growth believe it or not. A spiritually minded person is able to use thier bad examples for lessons and move on. Don't get caught up in the bad. Just try to know what God is teaching you.

As far as all the different denominations is concerned, I don't associate with one in particular. I am non-denominational because I like to stick to the bible, not the rules of a denomination. However, I was attending a baptist church for a year. To me, as long as I hear the Word of God, I don't care what you call yourself.
You can be the denomination of pizza delivery people for all I care. As long as the Word is true, I will listen.

If you're looking for a perfect church, forget it. You'll be looking forever. What you need to look for is if the pastor or apostle of the church is a Godly man and speaks the truth. Don't pay attention to the attendees, but the leader. The tares can be in the audience, but if the preacher is the tare, get out of that place as quick as you can.

You could join a nondenominational church. They purely go by the rules of the Bible. Splitting up in denominations is not the downfall of Christianity. It is the same religion just done slightly different.

I agree but usually it seems someone has to split up the church for their own man-made doctrine or to be in the spotlight. Some televangelists are becoming secular entertainers and not true bible-preaching servants of God. It's sad that young people are looking up to these people and wanting to start a church based on wanting salary,a new car, mansion and airplanes. Some one told me that just about every church you go to you will find a bad apple in the brunch to start a fight or discord. We are all ministers and ambassadors of Christ, maybe, we should start our own churches.

I agree strongly with at_window.Christ preached forgiveness and tolerance. I honestly believe that the bits of the Bible that people manage to read as saying there is only ONE way to honour this teaching, have either been added by people with agendas, translated , and or interpreted by the same, or just twisted around in the minds of people reading. It's easy to get along with everyone in your "club".It's our challenge to love and respect those who hold different, even threateningly different positions to us. Why do you think Christ preached "love thine enemy"? I mean come on--it doesn't even make logical sense--"tolerate, love and respect those who are different to you. But you are going to Hell unless you all do this the same way" !!??Maybe it IS the challenge, to Christians now(and not just Christians) to get over this righteousness ,both toward other denominations, and toward other religions/belief systems. Did it ever occur to you that THAT'S the lesson?

nope it's never gonna happen.

I have often wondered if the split into denominations so many they can barely be counted might have been similar to the story of Babal. Perhaps due to pride and other failings, god sent christians in hundreds of different directions.

Religions and denominations comprise Christianity. Instead of leading people to the truth, they lead them astray. Why don't you search for the Kingdom of God? It's here on earth. The Ark of salvation in the last days.

Did Jesus give up Saturday for us?

Jesus? Christianity? .

If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.

Gods do not die? Do they?

If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?

If Jesus died for our sins, he should be dead, dead, dead!

Try a sect of the Anglican Church called High Church, it's much purer and as close to any original as you are likely to find
