I have a really bad habit of lying. I know it's a sin, and I feel bad everytime i do it, even if at first it doesn't seem like a big deal. But yeah i'll lie a lot to my parents like if they ask if I finished my hw I'll say yes when I haven't stuff like that... how can I stop? Seriously I lie way too much.

Guess what, I used to lie just like u. I lie to my boss all the time when he asks aboiut a task he gaves me. I tell him I didnt send the email bcos the file was currupted, virus infected, disconnected from the network etc But i stopped it by doing what I'm suppose to do before the deadline. You could try that and see what happens

Start with being HONEST to yourself first. Do it everytime, in every decision and in every thought process that you make, no matter how small or miniscule it may be... It's not really that hard, you know. Then simply be HONEST with everyone around you.
You'll find that life becomes so much easier to manage when you make it a conscious habit to tell the TRUTH always since all your stories will NEVER CHANGE from the real and factual truth anyway! Get it???

If you believe in God, ask the Holy Spirit to tame your tongue and only speak the truth. Lying all the time leads to further distrust down the road, it will end up, getting caught up in all your lies and your parent will never trust you! I will pray for you!

Set some fare for himself - for example each time you notice lying to someone pay 1$ to charity.

You need to come to terms that you have lied alot and apologize for the lying and I think that will help you over come the lying.

if you can't voluntarily stop your self you may be a compulsive liar. seek counseling to find out why you do this.
