The recipe calls to bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes; my question is --- can I bake it at 350 degrees and for how long?

depends, some things you can get away with that, others totally fail

yeah u can.. for about 2 more hours? Hint: DO NOT open the oven while its cooking so as not to let the heat out...use u're oven light or the baking time will take longer.

if you are baking a cake i would not recommend reducing the temperature,your cake can fall down on you-meaning it will not rise properly.
if you have meat in the oven you can do that easily and just check in between.
if you are making something like au gratin potatos they will dry out befor they brown on a lower temoerature.

Try checking it after 25 min. then add min. as needed! Jay
