You realise it is totally illegal and extremely dangerous.

Oh moonshine, oh moonshine, now don't you kill me,
You killed my poor father, and now you'll kill me,
I'll go down to the hollow, and set up my still,
And I'll make you a gallon, for a ten dollar bill........

(An old Irish tip when making Poteen, if you ever get started. Get a metal teaspoon and put some of the distilled liquid on it. Light it and let it burn out. If it leaves carbon on the spoon, it is not pure and not fit to drink. Put it back into the cleaned still and put it through the system again. Again use the spoon until you have no carbon.....)

You should check out a show that Alton Brown ("Good Eats") did recently on Food TV called Amber Waves. He showed how to make beer at home. I think once you realize how complicated it can be to make your own beer or liquor, you might find that you'd rather just stop at the store.
