It will stop when someone wakes up.
Once they can find proper bio-degradeable material to replace paper it will become obsolete to cut down trees, but for the time being do what other countries do. Create man made forests. They do not cut down natural forests for they hardly have any. They start plantations which is expensive to maintain but it partially solves the problem. secondly their paper recycle percentage is among the top three in the world, which is high if you compare their country's size to that of America, Canada, Germany, China and other countries which has natural forests.

Oh, yes, and there are already measures ensuring that the rainforests are to be replaced, but the main problem is illegal loggers, especially in Indonesia,
i think, I can't remember if its indonesia, but geography has taught me that there are lots of rainforests there.
