If you're preparing it to serve sliced, blanche it in boiling water for a good few seconds. the flesh just below the skin goes mushy and the skin comes away.

But if it's served with the skin it's slice and scoop.

If it's Kiwifruit or Zespri/Chinese Goosberry you are trying to conquer just peel it with a potatoe peeler or cut it in half and scoop out the goods with a tea spoon.
I am a Kiwi (From NZ) and I refuse to be peeled so I hope its the above you are trying.

Its best to wait until the kiwi is ripe and slightly soft this is best time to get nearly all of the fruit and just spoon it out after you eat it. You can also slice it very thinly and eat the slices or add to your favourite pudding or breakfast cereal, I love it like this best when added to my cereal when slice. But I find when very ripe and the fruit is soft and I will eat the whole kiwi skin an all. When it is ripe it is really juicy and sweet.

Eww don't eat the skin, its such an awkward texture...I just peel the skin off and then cut it into slices....it makes a nice & tasty decor to a party platter or plate...also try it dipped in Philadelphia Cream Cheese (Mixed Berry Flavor) YUMMY!!!

you don't peel a kiwi...just cut it in half and start to eat from the center of the fruit....you can scoop it with spoon or just bite it like that.

Properly?? There's such a thing as kiwi etiquette? Jeeez...I just use a paring knife and try to keep my fingers out of harm's way.
