I am Christian and I agree with the separation of Church and State (which is also in the Bible). Forcing 'religion' on anyone is the quickest way to have them turn their backs on it. And if someone is forced it's not true faith and not what God wants in the first place.

when Israel was originally created the church was the state. if you check the Bible, especially Kings and Chronicles, you'll see where things went wrong, because the people running things were corrupt, therefor they corrupted the temple/church, which in turn like mold rotted away the state.
the whole reason the United States was founded was because people didn't want to be subject to the church being the state in England. To this day if you are British you are supposed to be a member of the Church of England. Forcing this on people has made the English less religious. I recently saw a poll and was surprised at the low percentage of people there who consider themselves religious.
America is very unique in this way, and the ideals of the church can be enacted through politicians votes, so in the end, America being so religious, we already are tied together.
In God We Trust.

It is impossible to push people away from God. It is also very hard to separate church and state because God is everywhere.
You can only influence the people negatively or positively in the acceptance of certain tenets. No pressure, just the promotion of pleasure.
The moral values that are contained within all religions should be learned by all people. The illusion of choice is the problem. The answer for everyone is to know that we should strive for righteous lifestyles.
You must find the plus sign. peace.

I think as a Christian and as citizen of this country it's only right to support the separation of Church and state. It's what our founding fathers did to not only protect the state from over influences by the Church (which is what our country was founded on) but to protect the church from over secularization.
Our country was NOT founded upon principles of ANY specific religious dogma, as all too many Christians tend to all too conveniently forget. It was found on a desperate need to be free from religious intolerance and oppression.
Sure many of the founding fathers were of some Christian sect or another, but most proclaimed to be "Deists" and tried very hard to keep their personal religious views separate from what they believed was best for our fledgling nation.
If we are truly Americans, it is in our best interest to keep those principles of our founders alive. To separate the powers of our leaders and keep the Church out of our legal dealings. It's the only way to have a clear head when dealing with other countries as well as all citizens fairly and equally.
As a Christian American it also behooves you to separate your religious beliefs from abusive influences by our government.

Check out your histroy books. The Baptist community were all very great believers in the Separation of Church and State! Most of those faiths that fled europe were, also, because the countries they fled from had no such separation, and therefore persecuted them!

yes, one is a christian and can still believe either in the separation of the church and the state or in the union of the two. as it was in the book of matthew, Jesus said, "render to caesar the things that are caesar's and to God those that are God's."

Yes, take the state out of the church, not the church out of the state.
Any one should be able to speak their own political beliefs just like their religious beliefs without fear.

Our point in life is for God to see how much we love him. He gave us a life. dont force people but preach, let them decide, God will help those who want to be helped! so just keep strong in your faith and keep praying and go to Church every Sunday and follow the commandements and basically do well adn you would live a happy eternal life with God!

Yes you can, because I'm Christian and I dont beleive it should be forced on everyone, America is about freedoms, and the freedom to choose your own religion or lack thereof should be given. While it would be wonderful if everyone decided to embrace God, they should do it on their own accord.
