My DVD-recorder cannot finalize a rewritable DVD and my PC cannot read it.what to do ?

I record a video from tv to a rewritable DVD with my home recorder.
When i put it then in the dvd rom of my PC none programm can recognize it.Some can play it but cannot copy so that i could burn it.pl help

Did you format the DVD disk before using it? I was having the same problem with my cd rewritable.My computer couldn't read it either but it burned the data on there,was so frustrating!
