tell him convincingly that you never want him to go to grocery as he SCREWS UP each time he does that. He'll go to the grocery just to contradict you and you'll get him do that in the end

tell him the batteries for the remote control are dead, he needs to go buy some more and then say while your out could you stop at the grocery store and pick this up,lol, ...maybe talk to him about it, ask him why he won't go, let him know it would be a help to you

Tell him plain and simple get off his **** and help shop...NO I'm just kidding. The right approach would be to tell him it'd be nice if you both could go so you both can decide on the food to buy because never know he may want to try something new and you would love his input on things OR trick him!!! hehe

Ask him if he would like a particular thing to eat. he loves really well. and then tell him if he would like to have it he needs to go to the store and get the ingredients for it.
If he has a request of you he must be willing to help fulfill the request instead of just leaving it all up to you all the time.

You stop somewhere on your way home from work and get dinner. When you get home you go about your business and when he asks where dinner is, you say, "Did you forget to go to the store?" No arguments, no big discussion. Just keep doing this until he gets up off his ***.
