i know what i think is but i find it humurous that someone will probably put the sniper rifle from halo on this. get into the real world people

There is no one most powerful rifle, rather the question is what is the most powerful sniper rifle bullet. when power is the question accuracy has nothing to do with it but the factor that affects it is the impact power. .50 caliber bullets come in a few varieties like pistol and different rifle versions. The most powerful of these is the 12.7x99mm bullet commonly known as the "50cal". So any rifle that fired this cartridge would be the most powerful sniper rifle, although any rifle can be used for sniping purposes.
And as a comic side-note the sniper rifle from Halo fires a 14.5x114mm round, so...if it were real it would be the most powerful cartridge to date.

50 cal sniper rifle is the most powerful anti-vehicle/equipment. It is against the Geneva convention to fire it at people.

Most snipers I talked to use the Remington 700, WinMag 300 with the .308 parts grouping. My cliche uses the old M1 Grand 30-06. These rifles are cheaper then the 50cal and easily acquired by lawful citizens

I do not consider the Barret a sniper rifle. It is far too heavy and awkward to be an effective sniper rifle. My choice is the HK in .338 Lapau or one of he .338 Wildcats.

although the barret 50 is probably the most powerful one of the best which i have used personally is the Rockwell L341A2 "Ranger" Sniper Rifle

Ok there are ways to say the peeps with their Barett .50 cal are wrong not gonna debate. The McMillian .50cal bolt action holds the longest record kill in Afghanistan at little over 7900 feet. It was shot by a Canadian in their 5th light-brigade unit. I have a Mcmillian .50 cal at hit a siver dollar ar 983 yards and thought that was a shot from hell.

Why worry about power? I would perfer to be good shooter with a weak rifle than a shooter who can't even hit a barn 100 yard away with super powerful rifle.
