Prayer is a conversation with God. Worship is a celebration of God.
The main components of prayer are Adoration ("I love you God, You are most holy, etc") Confession (confessing sins) Thanksgiving (thanks for all God has done for us) Supplication (Asking God for what you need... world peace, good health, Red Sox win World Series, etc.)
Prayer can be a form of worship, other forms of worship include going to services, Bible study, listening or singing songs of praise, etc.

Worship - you can worship evil also !
For another, the connotative meaning of 'worship' in the Christian community is substantially different from the biblical teaching.
Our word worship derives from the Old English weordhscipe meaning worthiness or meritoriousness and thus giving God the recognition He deserves.
Another term often associated with worship is thusia meaning sacrifice
What do you do in worship? How do you worship? What motivates you to worship? and What are the results of worship? From the responses he identified six worship styles in America: Evangelistic - winning the lost; Expositional - teaching the word; Renewal - excitement, revival, 'touching God'; Body-life - fellowship, relationships and small groups; Liturgical - serving & glorifying God through liturgy and Congregational - worship expressed by the laity.

Worship: imagine a subject kneeling before his king in submission to the king's authority.
Praise: some type of offering. Offering words of gratitude, or thank fullness. Or offering money, time ...
Prayer: Can be like talking to a friend. Can be a request.
Matthew 6:9-13
the Lord's prayer is an example of a combination of these things.
verse 9 praise, verse 10 worship, 11 request, 12 repentance, 13 request.

The way I was taught is that to worship is to express your love toward the Heavenly Father in forms like; Singing, Clapping your hands, Dancing before the Lord, or just being quiet and waiting for the Lord. Praying is where you talk to the Lord asking, seeking, knocking and waiting to see what the Lord would have you do.

Worship is more of reading the bible and the word of God, where praying it can be about anything

worship can use some prays, but not only that. in worship you show at a community your faith and trust into Gods/Goddesses. to worship you make a holy duty, make rites, chant, dance, party, sex and joy (at least that how us pagans do!) to worship, you have an altar, a temple or a specific place to do that. but you can pray everywhere, every time you need.
just keep on going.

i think Worship means to BELIEVE in God almighty n to FOLLOW his commands in all the aspect of life
whereas PRAYER means to TALK to God n to praise Him n to ask for help n mercy!

praying is to seek for enlightenment and answers....praying is to comfort yourself and to get wishes granted.... worship is to idolize and to mesmerize by a certain individual or religion.
