prostitution and rape have nothing to do with sexual freedom. they are a symptom of patriarchal dominance in society. they've been around for a long, long time. far longer than the concept of sexual freedom.

Sexual Liberation is not the same as Social Equality. Sexual liberation is easy - it doesn't take much to be sexually liberated for many. However addressing social ills such as rape is not that easy and is not much of a priority in certain societies. It's a social ill that involves complex issues such as upbringing, disregard for laws and social order, a twisted thirst for power, violence, anger and ingrained misogyny.

As to prostitution and to be very general: Just because a society is sexually liberated does not mean that all men are socially capable of having or wanting a normal relationship.

I was a part of the sexual freedom movement generated by the Hippies. Today I am ashamed for the damage we have caused world. We contributed to a growth of single parent families. These children displayed the same lack of responsibility displayed by their parents. No we have children with one parent missing that are shooting up schools and escalating crime. This is a generational curse that must be broken. The repercussions are far beyond what I mention here.
