My bf used to be the sweetest guy on earth..he sent me flowers, left stalks of champagne roses on my car for me to find..send me sweet texts and romantic e-cards..Now however, since he has had problems with work and finance, he has stopped being sweet..When I send him sweet texts, all he replies is aww..thanks..how sweet...etc. Thats all. I sent him an e-card which said I love you, He sent me back an 'im thinking of you' card..What is up? I drove all the way from my hse to his..I nvr did that before. I live on an island which connects to the mainland with a bridge and he lives on the mainland..and yeah he thanked me for coming and all but I didnt feel it. WHY is it that suddenly, im doing all the giving and he is taking and giving with a pinch of effort?

It may be just like a marriage, the honeymoon doesn't last forever. Life's stresses preoccupy a person. When there's less money and problems with work, it is stressful which causes fatigue and often a degree of depression. To be honest, a girlfriend who still expects all those things when she knows money is limited may make him nervous. Be supportive. Understand he is preoccupied and isn't thinking of you 24 hours a day anymore. Also, he might be seeing someone else or wanting to end the relationship. I know it is hard and scary to do, but if it is bothering this much, maybe you should clear the air and just ask him. Get it over with and know the answer-one way or another.

could be he's pre-occupied with his work problems. he still loves you, but doesn't feel worthy of your love for whatever reason.

either that, or, now that he has you, he doesn't need to put the effort in.

Maybe he has difficult problems w/ his work tha's why he doesn't have time to be sweet, yet.
