I was doing a bible study and noticed a difference in my mothers older "new world translation" Witness bible and a newer "new world translation" Witness bible that a member of the congregation gave me.
It was a passage when Jesus died and asked God "Whatup dude, why did you leave me hangin like this?"(not in those words)
And then the Earth shook and what not and the temple curtain was ripped and the Saints from the graves came to life and got up outta the cemetary and walked into the city and were seen by many people..
AND in the Newer Bible it went like this:
many saints who were in the cemetary came out from between the graves(apparently they were just visiting) and then strolled into the city and people saw them(why that is important to note i dont know, i would think if people would see them every day if they were alive.).
Now this part has always given apologists alot of headache in explaining so did the Watchtower publishers decide to give it a little cosmo help?

adam clarke a bible commentater states "the earthquake several bodies that had been buried were thrown up and exposed to view, and continued above ground till after Christ’s resurrection, and were seen by many persons in the city. Why the graves should be opened on Friday, and the bodies not raised to life till the following Sunday, is difficult to be conceived. The place is extremely obscure.”
Another Bible commentator, Dr. Jenks, says regarding these verses: “This matter is not related as fully as our curiosity could wish. . . . We may raise inquiries concerning it which we cannot resolve.” Other Bible commentators express themselves similarly.

I can tell you that the New World Translation is a version of the Bible that has been written to accommodate many of the misinformation that the Watchtower Society and Jehovah's Witnesses perpetrate and believe. You can still use the King James (Old) version to discuss things with them and they can be shown the errors of their teachings through that. As for the passage you are speaking of, the curtain in the Temple (made of steel) was to separate God from the people and only the priests could enter the Holy of Holies. When Christ died on the cross, that separation was torn apart and mankind had access to God without having the priests intercede for them. The people who came out of the cemeteries (graves) were dead people. It was evidence to people that Jesus had conquered death and that we have the hope of the Resurrection. It does not say if they were just the recent dead (as was Lazarus) or if they were dead for some time. It also does not say how long they were up and about...if they stayed alive or if they returned to their tombs. It was important that they were seen to give the evidence of the Resurrection and of who Christ was and who He claimed to be. I hope this helps a bit. Keep studying, good question. Blessings.

Jehovah's Witnesses' current "New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures" translates the passage this way:
(Matthew 27:50-53) Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit. 51 And, look! the curtain of the sanctuary was rent in two, from top to bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rock-masses were split. 52 And the memorial tombs were opened and many bodies of the holy ones that had fallen asleep were raised up, 53 (and persons, coming out from among the memorial tombs after his being raised up, entered into the holy city,) and they became visible to many people.
The Scripture is not difficult to understand upon reflection. During the earthquake, buried bodies were exhumed by the tremors. Since Jews felt that bodies were unclean, it was noteworthy that dozens of dead bodies were strewn about above the surface of small cemetaries in Jerusalem the capital of Israel (and well known as "the holy city").
So, 53 buried cadavers were earthquaked to the surface inside the city lines of Jerusalem, and a lot of people saw it.

There are many translations of the Bible. Since the original Gospels were written in Aramaic and Roman Latin, the exact meaning of some of the words are unknown. When translators go back to the original text and retranslate ancient text, there is often a difference between the new translation and older ones. Especially wen the version that is most common in English is a translation, not of the original test, but a an translation from Medieval Latin translations of a Greek translation of the original Aramaic or Hebrew.

Read the King James version of the Bible...that is the correct translation...these so called bibles now...they teach for doctorines the commandments of me rather than of god...

I would be very very careful when it comes to the Lord God's word. For my Bible reads " For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plaques that are written in this book; And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book".

Jehovah Witnesses do not change the bible. man makes saints. we don't worship saints. we only worship Jehovah. we don't use the king james bible because no one talks like that. our bible is the same but talks the way we all do. no one talks like that. I have the king james bible and use it when I study with my bible and see the same words except in english.

Who changed this to Jesus is the son of God?
Bible says; "God is not a man... not the son of man.."
(Numbers 23:19) Other places contradicts this(?)

Perhaps you could ask more seriousness to the way you ask your question. I can't picture Jesus saying "what up dud" nevertheless to God. If its true that you are a witness, at least try to behave more like it.
