Yes, do they think they're saving us so much effort or something?

I prefer to make a statement, or set up my question, and then ask it. . .for better effect!

And yes, I have WAY too much free time.

I believe it is a good thing; the name of the site is Yahoo Answers. We give answers because there is a question mark. If somebody posts a long serious question that is too long for the main question area, they may attempt to try to use more of a head line and then actually ask the question in the details area. But to continue to ask the question in the detail area, it is still a question. Thank you Yahoo for helping your loyal members.

That is stupid on their part.

I tried to post a long serious question, but is was too long for the main question area so I tried to use more of a head line and then actually ask the question in the details area and it kept adding a question mark to the "headline" where it really did not make any sense.

Yahoo is wrong for that!

No, Can't say I'd realised. If your asking a question, its correct punctuation to put a question mark at the end.
