The onion makes you do crazy things. Girls use it like a tool. A tool for a poor fool.

You should make a list of the strong points you have against the marriage, and then make sure that they aren't selfish opinions.

If your reasons are not selfish then you should write a letter to your father stressing your strong points against the marriage. Some times it's better to write a letter because some discussions end up heated and even as arguments in which no one hears or can focus on the issues. Then you must keep an open mind to his strong points, if he has any after that. It's up to you to help him see exactly what you see or what you feel.

Regardless to the end result, you have to remember that you're dealing with several lives; it's not just one. In life you will often have to deal with people that you don't agree with, but nature dictates that you must deal with them. So, although you have to accept or tolerate them make sure it doesn't cause you to be unhappy. That's your responsibility to yourself. Sadly enough, you do have to leave people live their lives; but make then fully aware that if it causes you torment you will find a solution to the problem.

Hope the best for you.

PS. Maybe it could turn out to be a good thing for you.

I never knew that it was my place to help make decisions for my parents unless THEY THEMSELVES solicited my advice or they were not "of sound mind".

I'm sure it hurts to see your father being taken advantage of, but if you've already expressed an opinion and he doesn't want to hear it, then you need to let him make his own mistakes!

He's an adult, right?! He SHOULD be old enough to face the consequences of his actions!

He's an adult. If he loves her and she makes him happy then why would you try to stop him from being happy? Now, if he's making a mistake then he needs to make it and learn from it. There's nothing you can do except be there for him if the marriage doesn't work out.

My dad married some woman just so he'd have someone to do his laundry, cook dinner and clean the house.
Could be the same reason.

He's not listening to anybody but his good friend William. Support him and tell him your happy for him. And let him know that you're there if he needs to talk. When he does come to you, ignore him and ask him if it feels as shitty to him as it felt to you when he did it (but do it in a soothing, supportive voice).

She must look good in a bikini. You sound jealous. Cry and throw a hissy fit. Maybe he will listen

as long as you said what you had to say, then let him decide for himself, he is old enough to know what is right. maybe you should also ask him why he loves the woman and why he needs a wife this fast..

well all u can really do is try to talk to him about it. he may just be too blinded by his love for her to hear what u say. sit him down & have a serious talk with him. but u have to be sure that u r doing this for HIM and not for YOU.

Let the love flow from you and tell him how you feel the let him make his choices. He is an adult.
