i used to joke with my dad about when he was young and married this young woman when he was in the army and how when they divorced she said she was pregnant. well aboyt a month ago a boy from wisconsin shows up saying he is my dads son. he is 32 and looks like me and my brother. it is so wierd that i have another brother. sadly my grandma died last sunday and my brother came down again. i dont know we are kinda uncomfortable around each other....what can i do to start a good relationship with him? my 3 kids are his only nieces and nephew.....

Look at as if you just got a new friend. Treat him as just another friend (for now). Try telling him this too, maybe? Go do stuff that includes other people and just act normal. Go camping, fishing, to the bar, a park, etc. After a while if you try to act friendly then it will become natural. "act a part long enough and it will become a part of you" I don't remember where I heard that quote from, but it's kind of true...think about it. Keep conversations normal, as you would with friends, and then later on when you have a relationship with him you can get into the personal questions...as you would with any buddy.

sorry to hear about your grandmother. maybe ya'll are both trying to hard!!!! finding out 30 somewhat years later that you have a brother that most of your life you and your dad joked about and never realized that maybe someday this could happen can be awkward enough. trying to have a sibling relationship right now may not be the best thing. i would try to become friends first. try an e-mail relationship. i find it is easier sometimes to talk in written words than face to face. tell him how you feel then take it from there. what is the worse that could happen????? the relationship would stay as is!!!!!

be open with him and tell him something similar to what u just told us! i'm sure he feels the same way that u do and he must want to have a relationship with ur siblings and ur father since he did so much to find all of u!!! best of luck 2 u all!

I would definately suggest some sort of DNA/blood confirmation about this person. Blind trust can kill, or at least make your life miserable.
People see and hear what they want to. Get the facts.

i agree, get the facts first. but after all, you should find something that you are both intreseted in and go do it, it will give you two a chance to catch up, but not in a 'to serious' way. lol well good luck!
