I am 21 years old and have plenty of friends, but have never even been on a date.
Many guys are atracted to me at first glance, but once they strike up a conversation, they discover there is more to me than a nice set of legs and toned body. I love physical sciences, psychology, theatre, and mathmatics. When they find that out, they always loose interest.
Even they guys in my advanced classes are all dating girls who are as knowlegable as this months Glamor magazine.
Am I doomed to be only intersting as a perfect lab partner?

It depends I don't mind dating smart women as long as they don't treat me like I'm stupid. I dated a brain for several years, she felt she was on one level and I was little more than dirt under her many pairs of shoes so you can see how that ended. Would you lose interest in a guy if he couldn't keep up with you on an educational level?

I have thought about this question long and hard because I find the question itself, as well as the nature of the delivery very interesting.

I have decided that you are a little bit goofy and for this reason guys don't necessarily want to have anything to do with you.

You may look nice enough and be intelligent enough, but I think having an overly analytical mind you have lost touch with a kind of sense of self presentation with which most people stay very much in contact.

I read a couple of your other answers, and I think that you may be just a little to innocent to make any guy think that you are sexy.

As a guy, I can honestly say that guys our age are idiots. Right now, a lot of guys are just looking for some fun and not somebody that they can have a serious relationship with. Now, not every guy out there is like that so keep looking but don't be discouraged because when you find a guy that will appreciate you for your intelligence as well as your beauty you'll forget all about those guys that missed out on a great girl.

If A guy dislikes you because of your intellectual ability, so what! You would be bored to death with him any way! Guys don't like girls that tend to be giggly ad air headed. Some get a little intimidated by an intelligent woman, double that if your good looking and smart!Take your time in selecting a male component so that you feel comfortable with each other and you not mental masturbation,

Listen ma. YOu going after the wrong fellas. Listen men like a girl with brians and very educated. A girl with a good head on her shoulder. Basically he gonna have to deal with on what you like, because that what you really like. But you can cut back on that a little talk about something other than that. It DOESN"T have to be about SEX. Talk about football or basketball. IF YOU are into sports, your cool points with a man will good straight up HIGH. We love a girl who knows sports and everything about it. Don't pay attention to the nice looking fellas playing the game. WATCH the game and enjoy it.

Wow, the guys in your advanced classes are dating. That's unusual.

But seriously, to answer the basic question, most guys are not interested in girls who are smarter than they are. Part of it is because guys are judged on socioeconomic status, earning potential, and the like, so if the girl is smarter (or richer), he might feel devalued and feel like he has nothing to bring to the relationship. Furthermore, girls can be rather condescending toward guys that they feel are less intelligent than they are, even if they're wrong about it.

Beyond that, guys vary in their preferences. Some guys will like girls who are intellectual equals or nearly so; others won't. As for the guys in your advanced classes, they might very well be attracted to girls who happen to be unintelligent but not necessarily attracted to them *because* they are unintelligent. And if they don't seem interested in you -- assuming that you might be interested in them, and are not yourself just interested in guys you think aren't as smart as you -- it might be because they don't know that you're interested. It's entirely possible for a guy to enjoy the intellectual company of a smart girl but never see her as a romantic interest simply because it never occurs to him that she might feel that way -- but if you show some interest, the guy might understand.

Oh, and those are a nice variety of interests you have. There is bound to be a guy who will like exploring them with you -- provided you like a guy who has such interests too. But whatever you like, good luck to you! You're still young, and you have more time than you might realize.

No way, my intellectual friend. Some of us studs have actually read a book or three and would really enjoy to have someone who's hot in bed and can hold a conversation afterwards. Of course, guys like myself are pretty rare, so carpe diem baby.

Ciao.

What a question.of direction men are attracted to clever women who may even cheer them up while they are low and choose somebody to talk to and not in user-friendly terms a gal who gazes once you like her to talk and shys off even while no longer needed.
