It is written...Yes, because it is a spiritual gift given to God's children. When one gets touched by God strongly one gives God control of self. When one praises God in the Spirit is out of love one feels for God at moment and the language prays and changes.into a different language at times.

Recently my Pastor prayed in the Spirit & a couple went forward for salvation because God Spoke to them in their home language (French) through my Pastor. Pastor doesn't know French. That was the first time that happened to Him. Also another couple went forward for salvation that didn't know any English, but because of the Spirit led them to salvation even if they didn't understand the sermon.

Praying in the Spirit builds faith. When one needs their faith built up, just pray in the Spirit. I feel loved by God when I feel His Spirit so much and am overcome by it. It Also helps in prayer when you need answers. Just pray in the Spirit and ask and receive the answer in the Spirit.

I fell away for 10 years and then fell apart. After a year of confusion, I found a church where the pastor prayed for me. I went forward 3 or 4 times. The last time God poured out the Spirit on me strongly where my arms went straight up for the first time and I prayed in a different language immersed in the Spirit. Still immersed in the Spirit, I went home and stared in my closet, pulled out a book, dropped it & the Holy Spirit directed me to toss the Mormon book out. I pulled out another one my mother-n-law gave me. A Zion book. I feared I would have to toss it. Instead I opened to a page & directed to a verse, "It is the Spirit that you have received that will lead you into all truth and is not a liar. " I knew that was biblical.

1st John 2:27 writes: But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

So, I obeyed, and slept a sound sleep for the first time in about a year. I was delivered.

Speaking in tongues is just one of the gifts of God given to His children. Read 1st Corinthians 12.

The apostles had an experienced this and we can clearly read this in ACTS 2:4-12.

ACTS 2:4 - And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

They were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues or language. Language which can be understoon by Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia etc. More or less 15 languages.

The people who have seen this testified that is why they were able to identify the languages that the apostles where uttering.

Today, if you would attend these silly churches who claims that they can speak in tongues, ask anybody inside the church if they did understood what have been uttered by those who can speak. This is a clear lie.

Moreover, it was also not recommended by Paul in the early church to speak in tongues but to prophesy:

1 COR 14:1 - Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
1 COR 14:2 - For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
1 COR 14:3 - But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

I definetly believe in the speaking of tongues....I believe when we are in the Holy Spiriy one initial physical sign is the speaking tongues..

Acts 2:4
4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The speaking in tongues in this instance is the same in essence as the gift of tongues, but is different in purpose and use.
Please read..1 Corinthians 12:4-10

Tongues is a gift...

Corinthians 12:28
28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

I have many time, while I was at home and in church, I will be praying out loud to the Lord Jesus Christ and the feeling of Christ come over my heart, soul and Mind, and he take control of my tongue and I am still praying with my mind and heart, but it in another language, It is the very best feeling on this earth.

The only other way to explain anything close to it, is when they put my baby son in my arm for the very first time, that how it feel on the inside, a warm fuzzy calm great feeling...

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and thank him for the many time I have got that close with him Aman

I'm a skeptic. I always thought it was hogwash. Until I personally experienced it.

I will not invent something to make my belief true. Like I said, I didn't believe it. Once again, God showed me that it doesn't matter what I believe. His truth is THE truth whether anyone believes it or not.

I can still speak in tongues.

No. I attended christian school for a while, and saw a pastor speaking in tongues up on stage. I can do the same thing, it's just random gibberish. I was concerned, and ready to dial 911 to have him committed.

I have witnessed this many times, and feel that most of it is people crying for attention. There have been a few, however, that made me wonder. Personally, I have never experienced it.
