... neutering a cat is a crime.

Guys, my question is clear. I repeat it once again: If YOU were a cat, do you accept getting neutered?

I have neutered all my pets. I was surprised by how it did not effect them. They acted like nothing had happened. Animals of course have feeling but different. I can't speak for them but I can't imagine that they even have a clue. My cats were out of the hospital and perfectly fine the same day. It was amazing. But I am not a cat and I assume you are not either. I walk my dog every day and we see the same bunch of cats, about 18 or so homeless living in pipes. They can have up to 24 kittens a year. Now that I would not want if I were a cat.

As a human I see the neccesity for it. THe cat population is very high and way to many kittens get dumped because the owner dosn't want them. That seems more inhumane to me. I had a tubligation when I didn't want to bare any more children so isn't that kinda the same thing in the long run. I'm not sure how I would feel about it as a cat but I know child birth really hurts and I wouldn't want to go through it as often as a cat does, let alone they have about 5-8 instead of just one.

If I were a cat I would definitely NOT want to be nuetered/spayed. Why not?....well because it would suck. Here I am layin around minding my own business...then bam! Im thrown into a cage, taken on a very scary ride on some kind of moving contraption, get stuck with needles, get drugged, cut open, have parts of my body removed against my will, spend the night in a strange place...I could go on, but Im sure you get the picture. And this is exactly why I cant bring myself to nueter my cat.

Now from a human's perspective...we have the responsibilty to care for and protect our pets. If you dont want to nueter your pet, thats fine...just take the steps nessecary to insure that they arent out making babies that you arent going to care for...or gettin diseases..etc. Keep the pet indoors.

I really think that we need a better way to control cat over-population. Castrating and removing the uterus & ovaries of any animal just seems extremely cruel to me (although...I have met a few men that really deserved to get their balls cut off). I have heard that male cats can have vasectomies (like human males) instead of castration, which may be a better solution. Ive also heard of female cat contraception...which I assume is like "the pill". So the point is that there are options...neutering/spaying is not the only way to be a responsible pet owner. Going around accusing ppl of being uncaring or irresponsible because they dont want their pets to under-go this procedure is not at all fair.

Are you kidding me? No not spaying and neutering is a crime... just yesterday I experienced a home with about 10 kitten strays all with infectious diseases because their owner didn't fix their cat and now can't afford to help the new borns its animal CRUETLY to not fix the cat... men and women can be 'fixed' its a painless procedure sure there are after affects but the animals are fine and its for the best so unless you can afford to take in every stray you encounter buying a cat and not fixing them is the crime

Neutering a cat isn't a crime. I mean, what about neutering dogs?? Unless you want a bunch of disease carrying kittens, around, then i would 'fix' the cat...if it doesnt get done then sooner or later you will have a bunch of deformed inbred kittens, Do ya want that??? I wouldnt

Though cats find it unacceptable, neuter yours by all means if you dont want to have kittens in the house. But keeping it away from other cats would be a much better option.

Having a cat that can contribute to the pet over population problem is an even worse crime. Bob Barker is right, you should neuter your pet.

Well, intact male cats spray and intact female cats go into heat, drive you nutz until you throw them outside, and come home pregnant.

My mom had a cat that put out over 100 kittens. It was my job to find homes for them all. My cats were all fixed before they were old enough to reproduce.

I think that having a lot of unwanted animals is a crime. I think if you get them when they're young, they don't know the difference. (claws, hormones, the works)

If I was a cat and accepting getting neutered? Being a cat my mind wave is much shorter than you would imagine. Concerning that my vote doesn't count. Being a cat not really knowing what in poop was done to me with my memory I'm sure I could forgive it considering the short time period that I wouldn't even know what had been done. Thanks anyway. meow

Like the cat has a choice in the matter... It's MY cat, so the stupid thing will do what I want it of it... if I want to hack it's nuts off, then so be it.. If I want to rip it's claws out - I will. MY cat is MY property and it will act accordingly. There is no 'accept' or 'decline' - what's he going to do? move out? leave a mess in my shoes? He knows better than that. As far as my cat is concerned, what I say is LAW - or he might as well start pushing up the dasies right now.

Cheers!
