fresh alphonso mangoes, peeled and diced into small pieces
5 teaspoons sugar, to taste
250 ml milk, cold

3-4 servings Change size or US/metric
Change to: servings US Metric

20 minutes 20 mins prep

Put the diced mangoes in a large mixing bowl.
Add sugar.
Using an electric beater, beat well until the mango pieces break and become mushy.
Beat really well!
Then add cold milk, a little at a time.
Beat well again until not even a tiny piece of mango remains -- You will get an aromatic mango smell emanating from the mixing bowl and a beautiful thick milkshake.
Add some freshly grated coconut for a nice variation (optional).
Cover the bowl.
Refrigerate until it's nice and cold.

You've come to the right place.....

You'll need a blender with a ice crushing setting. Fill it about half full with ice, and blend until the ice is like snow. Now slowly add your milk until you've got your desired consistancy (whole milk works best, but skim won't hurt anything). Now for flavoring... just a dab of vanilla (approx. 1/4 tsp). Blend for 30 seconds more and enjoy. (Other flavorings can be used... I'm just a vanilla type of guy.)
